Seems interesting especially with a 20 dollar price tag! Anyone play it yet?

| I'm also curious, I've heard nothing but good things from the occasional review. It's greatest strengths seem to come from the same place as it's weaknesses; it's indie to it's roots. The biggest drawback is probably its lack of multilayer. But for 20 bucks... I'm almost certain I'll give it chance at some point.

I'm playing it. It rocks.
For $20 you get a Diablo 2 style cartoon based dungeon romper with craploads of loot, flimsy storyline and multiple options to build a character. Perfect . There is no multiplayer in this version but there will be a multiplayer game made in the future, apparently.
If you're after a deep, mind bending and highly crafted world and story, then this isn't for you. This is an old style dungeon romp, plain and simple, and it's fun!
There are 3 classes. The Destroyer (see the pics). The Alchemist. The Vanquisher. Each class has their own specific skill tree, but there are cross-over skills that allow a lot of flexibility in creating your character. For example, the Alchemist, a wand weilding magic user can be built to wield a pair of pistols instead I won't spoil any more of what you can do, look into it yourself.
You buy and sell loot to improve your gear and level up to improve your skills. Sound familiar? Of course, there is nothing new about this and that's why you'll get into it quickly with only the tiniest of learning curve.
For $20 I felt this was worth it and I think they priced it correctly. -- As quiet as a fish.. |

| They won't be updating this game with MP.
Runic Games is a new company that was formed by Travis Baldree (creator of Fate), Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer (co-founders of Blizzard North), and the Flagship Studios Seattle team responsible for Mythos. Matt Uelmen also joined, and was the composer for Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo series. Following the dissolution of Flagship Studios in 2008, all 14 members of the Seattle team signed onto Runic Games, and the company developed 'Torchlight' as its first single-player action role-playing game.

Unless this goes on sale for $5 bucks sometime soon, I won't be buying the game for approximately eighteen months to "a couple years" then. Bummer, this game looked great but I don't care for single player games.
What other Diablo feel games are out there? I just want more hack n slash in my life.

Odd payment options though. I would suggest buying the CD if it's easier for you. It's only an 800Mb game (ish). -- As quiet as a fish.. |

ALOT of fun, plus the idea of sending your pet to town to sell items for you and have it return with the money... GENIUS. |
