SummaryCritical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.1.601 and earlier versions. The vulnerabilities could allow an attacker, who successfully exploits the vulnerabilities, to run malicious code on the affected system. Adobe has provided a solution for the reported vulnerabilities. It is recommended that users update their installations using the instructions provided below.

Sheesh. I just reinstalled Shockwave last week for a game. I guess I will uninstall it again and reinstall when needed whenever that is since I rarely use it.

TIP: For users who use more than one browser, just download the SLIM "Firefox" version and it installs for IE & Firefox & Opera.

Never have seen much of a use for this. At least I don't miss it as I've almost never installed it.

Partially just because it's Adobe, which leads to bloatness and flaws!!

Darn every time I try these adobe flash sites, IE8 freezes on the page. Just tried link & had hit the uncheck to NOT install that Google toolbar. Freeze. Had to close IE8. Been this way for me since Vista Pro 32 bit and on W 7 Ultimate 32 bit.
FlashPlayer 10 w/ ActiveX is currently installed. Happens whether or not have it installed (via some 3 party source).
No other adobe stuff, prefer Foxit Reader. Thanks.
