[Wireless] Getting same IP range?

Hello to all,

How to set up my Wlan if :

ZTE 3G Modem(no DHCP): 192.168.0.1
Linksys BEFSR41 V3 router : 192.168.1.1
Linksys AP WAP54G Rev. 2 : 192.168.0.245 (static IP (if I set it to DHCP I can't access the AP))

Laptop Static IP : 192.168.1.100
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DNS : 192.168.0.1

Problem is that I have to change my laptop's IP to static from DHCP, and from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.0.100, in order to access the AP's setup every time I need to change something. Accessing the router goes fine without changing anything.

The modem's IP can't be change and when I tried changing the Router's IP to 192.168.0.2 then I could no longer gain access(not even wired) and had to reset the router and start over. Same thing happened when trying to get the AP on the same IP range as the router.

Otherwise its working, but I would like to have it all on the same IP range, meaning 192.168.0.x, since the modem can't be changed.

I added screenshot's of the AP and Router.

Anyone got a suggestion:)

You can change the access point from 192.168.0.245 to 192.168.1.245 to solve the AP problem.

The router is performing NAT, so the modem is accessible at it's 192.168.0.1 address even when your computer is not in the same subnet.

Hi full Power, I tried changing the IP address before and then I couldn't access the AP on either the new nor the old IP address:(

Then you need to replace the defective access point. That is not how they normally work.

Hi Insomniacno1, How about a sanity check of connections for MODEM, ROUTER and AP?...

ROUTER WAN connects to MODEM. This is the only connection to MODEM.

AP (1 port) connects to ROUTER LAN.

All wired PCs to ROUTER LAN.

I'm sure other things would fail if this wasn't the setup but I want to be sure. What Full Power suggested should work.

Otherwise, something else (like a personal or o/s firewall) is blocking the 192.168.1.245 address for some reason.

Hi Bill, that is the correct setup:) and it is working, but only when using 192.168.0.245. No personal firewall, I hate MS firewall and only use the one in the Router.
