Your System - November/December 2009

Post your system specs if you've built/bought a new system during the month of November/December.

If you've changed your system, put "ADDED" next to the new component(s).

If you haven't changed anything - don't post!

Just rebuilt my PC as well:

Asus M4A79 XTD EVO mobo
Athlon Phenom II 945 x4
4 gigs of G.Skill DDR3 ram

The above replaces:

XP 5200+ x2
Asus M2N32 SLI deluxe
1 gig of ram.

Rebuilt PC because the mobo seemed to be eating ram....

New Build, It was time to replace the Pentium D box I put together in June of )^ (talk about bad timing...):

Processor: Intel I7-860 Quad Core
MB: ASUS P7P55D Deluxe
Memory: G Skill DDR3 1600 8Gb
Video: H.I.S. Radeon HD 5770 1Gb DDR5
Case: LanCool K58W
Power Supply: Cooler Master 600W Silent Pro
Hard Drives:
WD Black 750 GB x 2 Raid 1
WD Black 1Tb
Seagate 640 Gb (This is the one drive I moved from my last build)
WD Green 1Tb (external)
Optical Drives: LG 22x DVD Burners x 2
Mouse: Logitech G500
Keyboard: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard
Windows 7 Home Premium

There's also the obligatory GD stealie sticker as well...

Everything went together with no problems. This PC is fast, quiet and it doesn't use a lot of juice. I have to say I love the LanCool (I think they're Lian Li's budget brand) case. There is lots of room, the tool less bits all work as claimed and cable management is a breeze.

Out goes my awesome P35/C2D E6750/8GB DDR2-1066

Conroe rocked...

In goes a new platform: Asus P6T LGA 1366/Core i7 920/6GB DDR3-1066
Of course, with a new LGA 1366 Thermalright mount for the TRUE HSF.

Heart Transplant

I increased my Photoshop CS4 productivity by at least 4-5x.

My Christmas present to myself:

I-INC iH-282HPB 28" Widescreen Active Matrix TFT Display

Now I need to rearrange things in order to get a new desk so's to have more desktop space then I can use my old 24" as a secondary. Too bad the 28" doesn't have remote control capability as it would be perfect to use as a regular TV.

8800GTS 640MB (G80) vs 5870

I thought the 8800GTS 640 was HUGE three years ago. Year after year manufacturers keep moving the bar up on size.
