 | [Newsgroups] Free News reader I've been away from Usenet for a few years.
I'm gonna sign up again soon, which free news reader is worth checking out?
I use to use newsleecher, which was great. It is a pay piece of software though isnt it?
I use to use a serial key generator to unlock it.
Anyway, what would you recommend? |

Now if you want to download headers you will need another program but that is not what SABnzbd + is meant for anyway. I guess if you want to be more technical SABnzbd+ is the best nzb news reader! |

 | reply to Poser Has anyone used Sabnzbd on MAC?

| No but it's written in Python, an open-source programming language that is very cross-platform compatible (I run other Python-based stuff on OS X) and the interface is through a web-browser. I can't imagine you'll have any problems with SABnzbd on OS X. |

 | reply to Poser SABnzbd+ is great, it doesnt have all the neat little visuals that Newsleecher had, but this is fine for now! |

| said by Poser:SABnzbd+ is great, it doesnt have all the neat little visuals that Newsleecher had, but this is fine for now! I rarely even LOOK at the visuals unless I'm updating the RSS page -- 95% of all my stuff is automatically downloaded. BTW, poke around the config page more -- there are alternate "skins" -- I use "Plush" and I can't even remember what the default looks like any more... |

1 edit | reply to Poser Is there anyway to automatically par2 and unrar while using SABnzbd+ on MAC?
EDIT: It seems that the files automatically get unpacked, but the RARs do not get deleted.
How can I auto-delete those files after they have been successfully been unpacked? |

|
 | When adding a NZB file that you have downloaded, there are two drop down menus. One for placing it in the appropriate folder, eg Tv Shows, movies... etc.
The other is for what I wanted. +par +unrar +delete
I needed to select delete, and it would do the two tasks above it first. I love SABnzbd+, looks great so far! |

Makes for a very good combo.
Well I guess you also need to use newzbin.com. |
|
 | reply to Poser Maybe I'm dated in saying this (I haven't used newsgroups in years), but I was rather fond of Xnews. Does anyone still use it? |

| reply to chucky5150 Another good combo is tvnzb.com and the RSS functionality with SABnzbd. TV episodes just show up on my hard drive now |
