 | AT&T Yahoo DSL\High Speed Internet Service Narrative Description 1. Complaint Description From the very start of service with AT&T I had problems. Problems to the extent that I had to call corporate and get presidential escalation. There customer service is very rude and argumentative. My final complaint is that after canceling my service 10/14/09 and getting a reference number 1-1656025662 I was still billed on 11/14/09 for service. I called and was greeted by a very rude agent so I asked to talk to a supervisor and after waiting 10 minutes talked to Mrs. Adams. She was also very rude and claimed to have canceled the service. She would not give me any reference number, case number, her badge number, her extension, all she would give is her name is Mrs. Adams. Finally she disconnected the call. She hung up on me at the beginning of the call and called back claiming that the phone disconnected. I do not believe that was the case. Warning to everyone, Do not let AT&T direct bill a credit card.
Desired Outcome 1. Desired Outcome I would like my $50.00 Deposit and $42.95 11/13/09 42.95 10/13/09 I canceled my service on the 11th it was the weekend and I talked to support. I called again on the 14th and talked to billing. 2. Amount of credit/refund $135.90 |

 | I have been thru the presidents office many times, you put it mildly how they handle customer complaints they are always very rude and arrogant and do not have a clue how to answer customers questions. I think they know that services Bellsouth offer are very outdated and over priced but yet no one is doing anything to solve this problem this company is bad to the bone. Plus I do not think that AT&T OWNS ALL OF BELLSOUTH. It is also strange that they have two headquarters. |

 | reply to glmadmin I have used the Presidential escalation route twice. Both times I found them courteous and fairly dedicated. However even though they were polite to me, my issues (really requests) were denied at the corporate level. I believe that they really did try to get my issues solved.
I miss BellSouth and have finally been pushed over the edge. I ordered my DSL only line, due in on Tuesday. Installed the T-mobile @ home voip yesterday and so far it's working as advertised. If the next 13 days go as well I will port my home phone number over which will kill the current dsl/phone line, leaving me just paying the "New ATT" for simple DSL.
Knowing how bad it is for the customers, I wonder how bad it is for the former BellSouth employee's?
Cheers

Make sure you fully cooperate with them and complete any forms they send you.
It might take a billing cycle or two to get the charge removed, but you won't have to pay finance charges on that part of your unpaid balance.
As far as direct billing via a credit card goes, it's a whole lot safer than using a debit card for this or writing a check.
With a debit card, anyone you give the number to can empty your account - accidentally or on purpose. With a check you have absolutely no recourse. |

My last mildly discourteous contact with a "Bell" company was over twenty years ago; Pacific Bell Telephone. Never been treated rudely by SBC, or AT&T subsequent to its purchase by SBC.

The old centers handle mostly regulated services like regular old dial tone.
Unregulated and enhanced services go to AT&T and they are not all that helpful. |

I was not calling about Uverse. Trouble on the phone circuit goes to a different call center. In my case, what would have been a Pacific Bell center prior to 1996. PacBell was a bit haughty because they knew I did not have the wire maintenance plan. The later calls (last four years, or so) would have been SBC (until around February, 2006, when the logo on the bills changed to "AT&T") were more courteous. I only called DSL support once, but they (SBC) were pretty good, too.
And the new "AT&T" is just the old "SBC" in new livery. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
