Thinking of getting a PSP but can't decide

I am thinking of getting a PSP but can't decide. I have a iPod Classic 80gb at the moment and its battery is dieing so was thinking of getting a replacement battery pack online instead of buying a new iTouch and was thinking of picking up a PSP at the same time. So to my question which PSP system is better? There is the PSPgo and PSP system 3000. Is that Gran Tourismo bundle worth it for 200 bucks? Thanks for taking the time to read. These are always useful for the bus ride to work. iPod Touch 64gb is 400 bucks which is ALOT!

edit: it would always be riding in my pocket when not charging also btw.

My 10yo son has a 3000 and loves it. He has a few UMD games for it and also has fun just downloading demos of games from Playstation Network. You can surf the web with it, but having no keyboard makes it pretty tedious. For $3 a month you can even use it as a Skype phone, at least when it's within range of a wireless connection.

I got a smokin' deal on an 8GB Memory Stick Pro on fleabay and I can rip DVD's to the proper format for the PSP screen for him. He takes it along on trips, with headphones, and has his own mini-widescreen theater in his hand.

Note that the 3000 can't be modded. Earlier models can be modded to run custom software. A Google search will fill you in on the details.
