 Open DNS

I will be helping set up new computers for friends and family this holiday season.

Some of them have asked about internet filtering. I have never used OpenDNS but saw the tutorials at - »www.top-windows-tutorials.com/co···dns.html

I wondered if the OpenDNS Updater tool works in Windows 7?

Also, does it work automatically or do you have to run the tool to get your IP actually updated at Open DNS?

Will it work if set up in the windows admin account and then the users regularly only log in with their limited accounts for surfing?

BTW, I plan to be using filtering at the PC rather than router.

Finally, do most of you trust the tool from a security / privacy / malware point of view? I don't like to install programs or utilities that I don't have experience with.

1. I'm running the OpenDNS updater on Windows 7 64
bit.
2. It automatically updates the the IP address to the account that you signed up with.
3. Sorry don't know about the limited user account.
4. I have no problem trusting the updater since I am trusting their DNS servers.
