My yahoo email got strange Sunday morning

It turns out that Sunday morning somehow someone sent emails to everyone on my yahoo address book and web link that was called havoc to a couple people that accidentally opened it. I know this because I got a email MAILER-DAEMON@yahoo.com saying it could not deliver to a couple of my address and it showed the message. Almost an hour later I got email from friend asking me what the hell am I doing. I was not even at the computer at the time and I check my sent box and there was no such email. How does something like that happen? I have changed my password too after this event. I had sent another email telling people not to open my Sunday morning email. Any explanation for this?
I probably should get away from using yahoo altogether but how does all that happen?

I wanted to add that in the mailer-daemon email was a copy of the headers of the original email. It said that
the originating IP was from 187.15.84.192

My vote with spoofed sender. You're the random victim of a Joe Job. Someone with your name in their address book or inbox had a compromised PC that scraped your addy and pasted it into the spam. Your account was probably not compromised, but it's good you changed your password anyway.

The IP resolves to a PTR record that appears to be an ISP customer in Brazil. Probably a compromised PC that's being used as a spambot.

PTR record;
18715084192.user.veloxzone.com.br

I just hate it when people don't BCC when they email crap to their whole address book and leave all the previous addresses in the email.

I am so seriously getting away from yahoo so I can empty the contact folder. Some how it got into the yahoo system because I just don't see any intrusions on my system. I looked at my ADATA security logs and Windows logs nothing in there.
It was embarrassing this morning. Two people opened that email and link and those two happen to be employers who I contract with. Had to sent a sorry email.
I'm so changing to a private paid email. And no contacts in yahoo web portal.

I've read about way too many problems with Yahoo mail of late. I don't have it, but know several who have changed from Yahoo mail just last week. Strange things going on with them too and they would rather not deal with it any more.

I now own my own private domain and using their basic pop3 email services and using Microsoft Outlook. No more using yahoo.
