Natural Selection 2 - Spark Editor Release

It's moments away!!

The team posted: "Just waiting for the builder/installer to finish. Longest wait ever!" The Spark Editor is the map editor that the team built from ground up. It'll be available to everyone who pre-ordered the game. Anyone else excited?

I'd be more excited if the actual game comes out in my lifetime. College nights of NS is already 7 years ago...

Haha, well, editor released as promised last night. Finally getting a chance to download and install it right now so I'll see how it goes .

As for the game, based on the amount of work they've already shown off, the game is most definitely on track for next year if they keep up the pace they have going. (By game I mean beta of course... but hey, beta is good )

RGB tunnel anyone? :P
They developed their own engine as Flash said.

Now, here's me messing around with the new editor... it's definitely got a few bugs (it's a pre-alpha so no surprises there), but it's also really REALLY easy to make sweet looking maps with this thing in very little time.

This tool is seriously great, simple to use, and can accomplish a lot in little time!

I'll start working on a real map probably over the next few days (the crap I pulled together in these three screenshots was just me messing with the editor obviously).

I'm hoping they have an alpha ready by the end of March if all goes well.

Also waiting for the damn SC2 beta too however...
