 [Help] Autocheck or Carfax

Apologies if this is a repost:

Which is better, Autocheck or Carfax?

I'm planning on buying my first used car. I have been living overseas, now I'm coming back to the US and my car is in transit for about a month. Rather than spend $2k for a rental, I'm looking to shell out about a grand plus whatever for registration and insurance on a beater that can last 30 days.

Long story short, which vehicle history checker offers the best bang for the buck?

Thanks.

Autocheck...they list reported accidents in many instances where CarFax will show accident free.

Having used both services on many vehicles, I have found Autocheck to be more thorough and catch accidents and repossessions more often than Carfax.

You can also go look at any car on eBay Motors and see the Autocheck.

Notice the red flag on this car for example

»cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Cro···5fTrucks

then click on "View Full Report for Free" to see the entire report which will show a reported accident and the date. ( be sure to scroll all the way down the report )

So if your looking for a temporary beater for transportation until your main ride arrives go to eBay motors and do a search by zip code ( nearest ) and price ( less than $1k ) and you will see cars near you and also see the Autocheck..... for free.
