Partnership Broadband

Ok currently I have a Alltel Axcess card thingy. But after Alltel merged with Verizon its terribly slow for some reason. Well anyway I was wondering if anyone around here has or had Partnership Broadband for North Texas. Ive been thinking about getting this isp for awhile. I was thinking about buying the Standard plan and I was wondering what would be an average download and upload speeds. My normal things that will be doing is Xbox Live and YouTube videos. with your normal downloads such as music etc... So if anyone tell me anything about there experience I would love to know.

You might want to check the reviews. I did a search for Partnership Broadband and there were some reviews under Partnership Wireless.

It is fair to ask the provider itself for some local references.

I know there is some reviews here. But there dated like 5 years ago so maybe they changed since then.

Unless you have no other choice for broadband service, DO NOT SIGN ON WITH PARTNERSHIP. The service is terrible. I am currently using it because it is the only option in my area. It was decent at first but I've had frequent problems with dropped service and I've rarely got the download speeds I'm paying for.
As for customer service I think they only have one person answering calls so you will be on hold for at least 15 minutes, if that person is working that day at all. When you get someone they seem to not know what they're doing.

Is this partnershipbroadband.com ?

I took this from their website:

"We currently serve over 10,000 customers and our wireless coverage area spans over 15,000 square miles."

If that is an accurate statement they must be doing something right...

Or they bought out several providers and are pushing them downhill as quickly as possible.

I've heard that SkyBeam is heading that way (formerly LP Broadband...they've bought out most of the "indie" WISPs in Colorado and a few in Texas).

I have a question. Why don't y'all provide 50 ft telescopic poles? Was intrested in getting skybeam but once the tech found out he had to work he just threw up his hands and said "can't get above the tree line" and walked off.

i cant answer for skybeam, but from my experience 50 ft masts are a pain in the ass for service calls, you cant send just 1 man, they tend to take lightening strikes or fall over in high wind (huge potential liability). its likely they made a decision based on cost/income to not install 50ft masts...or the tech could just be a lazy bastard.

Most of the time, around here, 50' wouldn't clear the treeline anyway.

tere - We do provide masts in a few locations, mostly out west of Ft Worth. I see that you are in azle, PM me your account information and I can run a topography and see what the issue was. We now have an azle tower in addition to the springtown tower, depending on how long ago the test was; you may be able to receive service now.

Masts are a tricky situation, especially with the weather in Texas. We do our best to provide quality to service to as many as we can, however sometimes there are other issues that play into the equation. Hopefully there are other resolutions we can find to get service to a customer, masts are seen as a last resort if it will be reliable.

Re: Partnership Broadband

I have partnership broadband, and honestly it sux. When it works I don't have any problems, but that only last a couple hours or so, sometimes I can go a whole day without it dropping the connection, and sometimes it will drop 3 or more times a day. There was one night it dropped about 6 times in 2 hours. Tech support is useless, they always say there isn't a problem on they're network, and they want me to call them when I have the dropped connection so they can test it, well that's fine but they're not open past 7P, so when I'm up all night and it goes down, who am I supposed to call. I would have gone with skybeam, they provide service in my area, only reason I didn't is that they don't offer any poles to get over the tree line, partnership did, I have a 10ft tripod with a 20ft pole, it cost me 150..if only skybeam would do that, they could expand they're customer base, I mean really, if your in a rural area your gonna have tree's to deal with, you need to provide solutions for that.

JD - If you like I could look into the situation and see what is available to you.
