[DD-WRT] Repeater Question

I have two WRT54G-TM routers. I want one to be the primary router (after the modem), and the other on the opposite side of the house. I want both of them to use WDS for a seamless transition between APs. The distance is too far for them to communicate via WiFi, so how do I go about setting them up to use Cat5?

You simply set one of them up as a router that handles the gateway and hands out DHCP address information. Then you set the other one up as an AP only with the router functions disabled. Run your cat 5 cable from one of the LAN ports on the router to one of the LAN ports on the AP and you're good to go. WDS is not used. If you give both AP's the same SSID but put them on different channels Windows should pick the AP with the best signal and connect. Or you could give them different SSID's and once Windows is configured to automatically connect to either SSID it will do so automatically.
