What resolution are you running in the game vs your desktop?

Usually the screen momentarily (like tabbing out from full screen) is the same resolution as your full screen resolution and if a window is open in the foreground will resize if the size of the window exceeded the bondaries of the desktop at the moment when it was a lower resolution.

Easy fix would be to not keep windows open in the foreground.

Some people choose to play their game in Windowed Mode for this reason. Personally, the window around the screen bothers me, but that's just me.
