Left 4 Dead 2 crashes Windows 7 completely

Hey all,

Lately I have been getting crashes while playing Left 4 Dead 2. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have tried turning off the multicore rendering, turned down the shaders, gone windowed instead of full screen and i still get issues. Looked in event viewer but it's not showing anything other than the shutdown error. Nothing else seems wrong. I have the latest video driver for my gtx 260 nvidia. Any ideas on what else to try?

Do you have a boxed version or steam?

If you have steam go to my games and then right clik on L4D2 and properties and local files and then let it run through the verify integrity of game cache.

You might try to uninstall and reinstall your vid drivers as drivers do get corrupted and a fairly quick fix ( I always keep my old drivers in a folder in case I need to revert to an older version)

Have you updated your chipset and flashed your Bios to the latest greatest?

Have you checked your DirectX to make sure it is healthy? I have had werid deals in the past from outdated Flash and Java settings too good luck
