Valve really needs to get episode 3 out the door asap... it better be already well in the works and it better be the next game released after Portal 2 or I will seriously have lost faith in Valve.

The problem Valve is having with Episode 3 is likely that it is the 'end' of HL2. Since they are ending the storyline, it is likely going to be something huge.
I suspect much of the delay has been getting the story right.
