 | reply to Io4 you do have to remember that qwest also serves a majority of montana's and wyoming's population and you know their speeds, (1.5 or 3 meg). Im sure Bresnan's terrible service for any where besides billings has affected that map also. |

If you take the time to check their website you will find that Qwest offers 1.5mb, 7mb, 12mb, and 20mb service. Bresnan, thankfully does not serve my area. When I lived in GF and had Bresnan cable internet, it took me six months worth of calling to get them to replace the line from the pole to the house. Service was better after that, durring the daytime. When the neighbors were home in the evenings it was worse than dialup, luckily DSL does not suffer from this type of slowdown. -- rod_pod |

 | yes they do offer 3 meg because i can get it at my house, and for most customers in Montana they only offer the 1.5 and 3. I haven't seen anyone with 7, 12, or 20 in Montana since the 12 and 20 only comes with their new "fiber" lines which they have not brought to MT yet. |

Simba7I Void Warranties join:2003-03-24 Billings, MT | I find it funny that the max speed I can get with Qwest is 5mbps when my parents (in Miles City) can get 7mbps. I was like "WTH??"
I had Qwests' 7mbps service (by Pioneer Park) coupled with my Cisco 678 and the darn thing NEVER went down, except when a main transformer blew in Billings in 2005.
Now, I've got Bresnan's with a decent 12-15mbps download and always 1mbps upload. I torrented a huge file and monitored my Cacti server to check my rates. -- Bresnan 15M/1M MyWS[P4HT@3.2GHz,2GB RAM,2x1TB HDDs,Win7] WifeWS[P4HT@3GHz,2GB RAM,60GB HDD,Win7] Router[2xP3@1GHz,512MB RAM,18GB HDD,SMC 8432BTA,2xDigital DE504,Compaq NC3131,Intel Pro/1000MT,IBM Gigabit Ethernet-SX,Allied Telesyn AT-2560FX,Gentoo Linux] |

I have 7 meg Qwest in Great Falls at both my home and office. You need to be close enough to downtown to get it. |
