| This will be interesting I think P2P will be around for a long time. I like the fact that I can d/l live cuts that will never be produced from bands that *encourage* tape trading. I would never d/l and entire album that I could purchase because I have respect for the artist and their time put into making his/her music. Heck, if I was starting a band, its the first place I'd put my music to create public awareness.
P2P certainly has a ton of great uses but the RIAA thinks it infringing on its monies that come in from selling records. I have no proof in front of me to back it up, but I believe that I read somewhere that album sales were greater last year than the year before. Regardless of the outcome, ultimately its the public that decides what it will or won't buy and what it will or won't tolerate. The public doesn't want to be indiscriminately accused of stealing music and that's what the RIAA is doing. |
