Matamoras, PA | [ps3] PS3 Media Server Streaming Can someone please help me with streaming content to my PS3 with PS3 Media Server?
The computer will not show up as a media server on the XMB. I have tried it with a fixed and non-fixed IP address in the settings. No luck though. |

kudos:2 | On the the PS3MS, on the General Configuration tab, input the IP address of the PS3 where is shows "Force IP of the Server"
On the same tab where is shows "Force networking on interface" make sure is shows your NIC and not software loopback. |

kudos:2 | What OS are you running, if XP you may have manually add the PS3MS in the firewall settings.
Go into your firewall settings and see if the PS3MS is allowed access. |

Try running PS3 Media Server in "administrator mode".
This works for me. |

I had problems with PS3 Media Server initially, too. I didn't really spend much time troubleshooting it and and tried out TVersity. That worked immediately and I've had no problems with it since. You might give it a try if you're unable to get the PS3 Media Server working. |

What about the Windows 7 firewall? Allowing that traffic through?
The PS3 Media Server really is a great piece of software. I love it.

I've used it with osx without any issues. Make sure your media folder is shared then it will appear on the xmb. There was no other configuration you need to touch as it worked right out of the box for me.
