Don't expect much of a response here. This is a niche game. DOSBox has its own forums (IIRC). I suggest posting there. -- "And Tehuno said let there be haste, not mp5, and there was haste. All creatures of the world rejoiced." -WotLK Ch. 3.3.2 |

MargolisPremium join:2003-11-24 Saint Louis, MO | reply to STV DOSbox is a very nice utility. I haven't had any problems with it. Do you have the folder with game mounted properly? Where did you get the game? It sounds like you are missing some files that game needs to run, or they are not in the mounted folder. |

STVslippery when wetPremium join:2000-10-02 Saint Charles, MO | What is the proper way of mounting it? The CD is store bought years ago when I was running windows 95 -- Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity |

MargolisPremium join:2003-11-24 Saint Louis, MO 2 edits | reply to STV first off, once you open DOSbox you can just type "intro" at the z:\ and it will tell you a good amount of info if you haven't done that.
z:\intro mount
will explain how to mount
z:\intro cdrom
will give you info on cd support.
z:\intro
will tell you all the above and more
I have never needed cd support yet, so I don't know much about their support. All my old dos games are already on my harddrives, no need for cd. Not to mention the fact that most of my dos games are on 5.25" floppies and 3.5" diskettes...
also, for really good help visit the dosbox forums:

MargolisPremium join:2003-11-24 Saint Louis, MO | does the game require the the cdrom to be in the drive when playing? If so you would also have to mount the cdrom |

STVslippery when wetPremium join:2000-10-02 Saint Charles, MO 2 edits | reply to Margolis I got it to work and F22 lightning II also. I could never get it to work through the cd rom so I created an image of the disc. I made a image folder in C: Here's a pic of what I did. I just type jf3 and the game runs great thnx fr the help -- Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity |

|
STVslippery when wetPremium join:2000-10-02 Saint Charles, MO | I tried compatability mode,it was a no go They wont run in XP either without dosbox. Dosbox does work in Vista and 7 -- Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity |

What about running the shortcut in compatibility mode? no, old dos games have to be run inside dosbox. It's not just the newer windows either, windows 2000 and XP have to use dosbox also. win98 was the last version that could run dos programs natively. |

I was thinking it was an early Windows game. Yeah I remember installing those games off of like 10 floppies on my first actual Win PC (486DX 66Mhz, lol), the C64 dosen't technically count. |
