Secret to early releases news?

I know that on average DVD's/bluerays are *available* 2 weeks before there actual release?

Is there a simple way to know what's "new" by doing a quick scan/look see..

I always thought the newzbin filter for comments was one such way.. but it's not that effective

But the release blogs don't catch everything so you need to look at a pre list to see if there is something that you might want. Kinda like looking through newsgroup headers in the old days.
