 | Continuous Ink Supply Systems, opinions I would appreciate anyone's opinion regarding these continuous ink supply systems for printers. I am considering one for a HPoffice jet pro8500 wireless that is under a pretty heavy office load.
Thanks in advance for any replies. |

| Everyone I've ever seen costs more than its worth. They always seem to be having problems partly because they're always in add on from someone other than the printer manufacturer.
You'll be better off in the long run buying a new printer that is designed for the volumes you're running. |

I've bought two CISS from them for Epson inkjets and found them and their inks to be good quality. This system uses Sponge Less Cartridges. Checking prices, the HP8500 CISS costs less than a set of high capacity cartridges for the printer. And they have a 30 day MONEY BACK Guarantee and have couple on Ebay for $76.88/free shipping. And a refill set of 100ml ink bottles for each color for $21.98/free shipping. That's like the ink for more than 25 cartridges. Give it a try. Worth testing for the $6 to send it back if you don't like it.
Forget all the naysayers that don't even realize the money they spend on the 15ml of ink they get in an OEM cartridge and the fraud of the printer manufacturers. They all make 100 to 200% profit on those printers and 500% on the cartridges.
Thought: Why aren't you using a laser printer in an office setting? |

| reply to raster44 said by raster44:Thought: Why aren't you using a laser printer in an office setting? The OfficeJet 8500 Pro is a capable small office printer, with better color printing capability than most color laser jets. Print speed would be the main downfall compared to laser, and even then, it is by no means slow.
I own one of these and it replaced a small B&W laser, combined with a color inkjet printer. Very practical if you need both decent to good text output along with high quality color printing.
Unlike most inkjets, the 8500 Pro boasts a lower cost per page than most small office level laser printers, with the XL capacity black ink carts at a mere $35, rated at approximately 2,000 pages (of course, as with laser or ink jet carts, mileage varies based on material printed per page).
One positive with this printer if you are looking at a continuous ink system: as the ink carts are separate from the print heads, and stationary, I would imagine that setting up a continuous ink system on this printer would be fairly simple to do. -- Deeds, not words |

raster44 join:2003-09-07 Niagara Falls, NY 1 edit | The refill ink for the CISS comes in 17 oz. bottles that sell for $21/$5 shipping. That would fill that XL capacity black ink cartridge over 15 times. And the color cartridges over 30 times. |

 | reply to mainlands CIS are fantastic! Never had nor even heard of issues if installed properly and not the el cheapo $79 Ebay variants, lol. Many companies make reliable ones from MediaStreet to FireFly. -- Images are Copyrighted and use is NOT permitted. |
