| Some help needed registering sub-account on Voip.ms Hi,
I need someone's help until I get support from Voip.ms in the morning.
I created a sub-account and now for some reason, I cannot get my sub account to register. It did not ask me to identify which server I will be using. I assume it would be the default server that is associated with my main DID account. I entered the basic info... nothing to it really.
I am trying to login with SIP app on Iphone but nothing .
Any help would be appreciated ... thanks! |

| You specify the server in the iPhone app. It can match your main account, or be different. If you want to take advantage of extension dialing, your sub accounts should register to the same server.
In the voip.ms user portal, go to sub accounts>>>manage sub accounts. Make sure you are using your sub account username such as 109XXX_xxx. This is your account number and extension number. You must use the underscore between the two. You should have set up a password in the sub account, so use what you put in there. I'm not familiar with isip, if that is what you are using, but most of these apps are about the same when it comes to registration methods. |

1 edit | At Voip,ms, when I go to Menu item --> Sub Accounts > Sub Accounts Registration, there is no server associated with my subaccount, and of course it shows 'Not Registered', so I don't even know what server to enter into my Iphone app.
Also under 'Edit Sub Accounts' there is no mention of what server I can select. I even went to menu --> Manage DIDs and selected the subaccount to select the server, but once I do this I cannot receive incoming DID calls to the main account which I use from my Linksys Voip router.
I am under the impression that first your subaccount is registered and then you enter the info in the SIP app. |

| If you point your DID at a sub account and you have no sub account registered, you won't get ringing on you main account unless you have a failover set up to do this.
Did you put one of the voip.ms servers into the sip app. You should put something like houston.voip.ms (your preference) into the "domain" field. Most sip apps I've seen have this entry labeled domain or server. You might want to see if your sip app has instructions for entering your registration credentials. |

1 edit | reply to dieselgg In the VoIP.ms portal, which POP did you select when you configured your DID(s) under DID Numbers|Manage DIDs? Whichever POP you used there you should use the corresponding city.voip.ms server when you configure your iPhone app. -- WRT610N + dd-wrt - SPA2102 - SPA3102 VoIP.MS - Localphone - Callcentric - Google Voice - UKDDI - SipSorcery |

2 edits | reply to Jet101 I am using Toronto. I am now able to login with my credentials to my sub-account. I am using Fring at the moment.
But the problem is now is that why is my main account (linksys voip adapter at home) showing not registered and now my subaccount is now showing registered. I thought both are registered.
Updated --- > both main and sub account are registered but I got someone to call my the main account number, ,... the linksys voip adapter rings but Fring is not receiving the call.
Voip.ms explained to me that both linksys voip adapter and the SIP app would ring to same incoming DID number. |

 | Create a ring group with both sub-accounts in it and point your DID at it. |

To have both ring you would need to have a ring group that contains both accounts AND you would have to set up your DID to route calls to your ring group. |

| reply to grand total Thanks I forgot about that. Thanks a lot ... everything is working.
Just need to find a better Sip app.. Fring voice quality is bad. I guess I have to choose between Acrobits, Bria or ISIP.
Is there one that you can recommend? The one mentioned above have been recommended by other uers.
Voip.ms needs to setup an FAQ or basic instruction html page. |

Once you find your way around their portal it's not difficult, but there is a lot to absorb when you start. -- WRT610N + dd-wrt - SPA2102 - SPA3102 VoIP.MS - Localphone - Callcentric - Google Voice - UKDDI - SipSorcery |
