New channel called "HUB" HD on channel 785?Last night (VHO8) I was searching through the channels and Discovery Kids HD was gone and "HUB" was in. I think it was channel 785 or in that area. Seems like it is all the shows from the late 70's and 80's... some decent/funny shows. Just wanted all to know... |

Yet another hardly watched channel that Verizon adds in HD. Still no sign of Cartoon Network HD, or [adult swim] in HD for that matter. |

Apparently this was in the "Top 5" to be added, according to Twitter Joe. |

I am watching that more and more... especially since the advent of "The Regular show"! That is HILARIOUS and in HD! |

I would think if Hub-HD fails to carry enough of its schedule in true HD Verizon should reassign the space to Cartoon Network [adult swim] HD. Just IMHO so |

Hub. I can bet that Discovery/Hasbro pushed hard to get the channel in HD, as it is debuting. |

Damn, I want this channel. Not that the shows are HD but I really want to watch Wonder Years as I haven't seen it in years. I guess it's in the Ultimate package? |

Tivo gave me a notice saying it was on 789 but when I tuned it in I get a not subscribed screen. I'll have to check the Verizon DVR. |

I've come to the conclusion that Verizon hates Cartoon Network, the evil bastards... |

I have to press clear to get to the channel, then I get the you are not subscribed screen, but I have the guide information........On my TivoHD I get the channel, but it isn't shown in the guide, it just says To be announced. I have the channel on on my Verizon box with no problems. |

Yeah, they also have "Happy Days", "Family Ties" and a few others. Not quite 16:9 but read it is 14:9 or something. PQ is not too bad either. |

For the fans of old TV shows, HDNet has been showing CHEERS in 16X9 HD. |

Ok, this new channel is crap. The killed all of the educational shows from DK and now they show useless stuff along with old movie and old show.
It is indeed a waste of a channel. |

If you're a fan of 80's cartoons and TV shows, it a great lineup at night. That argument is ironically one that occurred 25-30 years ago when Reagan eliminated the ban on airing cartoons based on toys. Since then its been all about how many toys you can sell. PBS is the only network that is safe for children's educational programming. |

It happens very specifically with this channel because it has a non-zero CCI flag -- the first outside of Frontier territory, AFAIK, except for (as it turns out) the "Information" channels 131 and 1952 -- and because the CableCards have been unpaired up until now. See here for more info. |

Okay, then I would call Verizon and report the problem. |

The solution is to have the CableCards paired with the TiVo (or whatever device you're using). I haven't done it yet, but try calling the number that pops up on the screen when you tune 789. Personally, my preferred solution would be for the channel's CCI flag to be reset to zero, like all but the Information channels have been up until now (except in Frontierland). But I don't hold out much hope of persuading Verizon to do that. If the flag remains as it is now, then even with paired cards, you won't be able to move any recordings from this channel to another TiVo or to your computer. Some TiVos have apparently been paired with their cards already, hence the "no problem" reports. |

I sent a twitter message to FiosTV and he says he will look into. If you have twitter you may want to send him a message just as friendly reminders |

I must have been looking at the wrong channel yesterday. When I went to 789 this evening the CC info screen came up. I called tech support which of course was worthless, and then they wanted to send a tech out.
What the tech would do I have no idea. I'm certainly not going to wait around all day for a tech to show up, just so I can read off some digits from the CC screen to the tech in person, when it could be done over the phone.
The tech support people were pretty much clueless. Which has been the case in the past for two thirds of the calls I've made to tech support.
I don't even know why I called and wasted my time. I should have learned my lesson by now instead of wasting 66 minutes on the phone. |

Setting the CCR bytes to be no transfer is annoying, though if only on one channel (fingers crossed) not the end of the world. I can get my cards paired if I have to.
What is really problematic is if they're using an ICT and forcing a downrez to TV's connected over component rather than HDMI. That is completely unacceptable. I will go ballistic. |

For those of you with the cc screen on the hub.... It definitely absolutely is because you don't have your cablecard paired to that specific tivo. No other answer is correct. What I had to do to fix the problem -- and what you have to do -- is call tech support. Tell them to pair the cablecards. They won't know what you mean. They will want to send out a tech. Say no and demand -- through a supervisor if needed -- that they deactivate your cablecard and then reactivate it by you giving them the information from the screen you get when you tune to 789. The includes the host id, data number, etc. You will never get 789 unless your card is paired to your specific tivo or verizon turns off 0x02. And that won't happen in my opinion. Again, there is no need for a tech visit. The problem is clueless tech reps. There is a solution -- demand they take the time to deactivate and then reactivate that card, and that they reenter all the activation info based on what is on your cablecard screen on your tivo when they do it. Again you will most likely have to get a supervisor involved if my experience is any indication. |

I did tell the CSR this. They were cluless so I let it go(iwas on the phone for 66 minutes which was 56 minutes too long). I figure if I want to I can always do it at some point in the future.
But right now I can't even properly name my cards online. Which was my first step before I consider pairing them. So I know which one is in each TiVo. Previosuly I did not have this CC naming issue on the FiOS website. |
