Well until I put a direct line into the modem, it is my fault. If it stays at that speed after the direct line, I will try to find out why it is not 1.5mbps, not complain about it, hell I was at dial-up modem speed for years, I am loving this. However, I do not want to spend money for something I may not be getting, and that is just common sense. |

Yes. For reference, I am getting 8 hour leases from the DHCP server. |

| reply to bobcna$ An 8 hour lease...nice. When i had northpoint DSL (before they went bankrupt) i had a dynamic IP and the lease was either 2 hours or it would change when i reboot my computer [text was edited by author 2002-04-21 22:21:02] |

New ip addresses beginning with 64 because they had to repurchase new ones. That is the answer I got. |

| Since I see that some are having problems I was just wondering what problems people are having. Since my IP was renumbered I have been noticing that I have problems accessing some sites. It is sporadic and they do seem to come back. It was much worse yesterday (Tuesday). I thought it was DNS, but I was able to verify that the addresses were resolved. These were major sights, like IBM. Other sites seem completely unaffected.
Just wondering if it is just me. My email is working but I am not using WOW as my primary email. I just basically browse and download.
Thanks |

I was doing some surfing a little while ago and came across two sites that wouldn't load. I did a little rewiring (disconnected WOW and plugged in my EL DSL) and they loaded right up. Hmm... |

I'm looking to upgrade to broadband and from what I hear, WOW is the best bet. I have a question though. Do you have to use WOW for cable TV in order for their cable internet? Or is that ust some sort of discount? I'm near to Maplebrook so I should get good speeds right? |

| If you have them for cable its $10 less a month and if you have HBO or Digital cable through them its another $10 cheaper a month. Its $45 a month if you have cable through them for the fastest package. Right now nobody is getting good speeds but within a week hopefully the speeds should be back. It doesnt matter where you live in naperville cause the speeds are teh same everywhere. ONce they fix the speed issue your speeds will be around 2000kbs down and 500kbs up. -- Test running.......... ** Speed 2096(down)/509(up) kbps ** (At least 41 times faster than a 56k modem) Finish. |
