I have one of those PVMs myself, and I haven't experienced major problems (though my experience has not been trouble-free). Have you thought about giving up the Overdrive and swapping?
Remember that you can build your own ad hoc wireless network. You don't need the Overdrive to do that. |

Atlanta, GA | Well, the cord-cutting experiment is not going so well so far. It seems 4G has been down at home for nearly a week now. I get "obtaining IP address from Sprint" for a long time, then it connects. But, there is no internet once it connects.
So, I've been trying to exist on 3G only but it can't keep up with consumption (Netflix, Hulu, VOIP, etc.).
I am moving in about 2 weeks and will have a new tower when I do. I guess I'll see how it goes then.
I am able to connect when I am at the office and have blazing speeds, so it would seem to be a tower issue. Sprint opened a ticket for me to take my phone (and wife's) to a store to have it checked. I tried to explain it only happens when I am at home, but she didn't seem to care. |

My strategy hasn't yet progressed beyond fantasies of heading (back) (yet again) to the Sprint store and shoving it up the ass of the first worker I see there. 
edit: Back to the future... Oh, and I see Chicago is 150 miles further from me than it was this morning.

I ask because I got that problem once on my Windows 7 laptop. I fixed it by first going to the Network and Sharing Center. In that window, there was this listing of my Sprint 4G connection with three categories, Access Type, HomeGroup and Connections. After Connections were the hyperlinked words Local Area Connection X (X represents a number; I forget what the number was).
I clicked the hyperlinked LAC words. That brought up the Connection's Status window. From there I clicked Diagnose.
After the computer thought about that for a few seconds, it spit back to me some gobbdygook about DH something CP. It asked if I would like to apply the fix. I said yes. It did so.
WHOOSH!! Suddenly total Internet connectivity, and the problem was fixed.
Don't ask me; I only subscribe to the stupid thing!
Seriously, I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you what that was all about; I just know that it fixed the problem. |

The problem is that the phone will not connect to 4G. But, at my office, I have no problem connecting to 4G. This happens on 2 different EVOs. I'm sure there is a problem with the tower at home. When I do eventually connect to 4G at home, there is no internet so I have to drop back down to 3G. |

I understand that you can connect at work. However, regardless of whether there's something funky at your home tower, to solve that issue may involve that Diagnose thingie. In other words, yes, the tower is acting funky, but the solution to that funkiness may not necessarily be solved solely through making a change to the tower. It might also involve a different approach on the part of the modem.

Atlanta, GA | But, this is verified through the phone as well - no computer in the mix. When it does connect to 4G, I cannot access the web on the phone itself. Drop down to 3G and phone and computers access the internet fine. I'm streaming Pandora over 4G even as we speak. |

WOOT. So finished moving. I'm a little sore. But i'm extremely happy about this connection. I was very concerned at first because i was boarderline Lightblue(some indoor-outdoor) and darkblue (also some indoor, but better, and outdoor).
I have the same CINR bars as my old place, and same 3bars. But apparently, i get a fast mbps for both the D/L and the U/L

Well after an hour, i was disconnected. My sprint smartview program was saying that i was connected but i was unable to access any websites. I could not even disconnect from smartview and i couldnt exit the program either. I had to get out of the program by manually ending the process through task manager. When i tried loading up smartview again, it simply would not load up. I noticed there were some updates for my windows so i updated and it restarted my comp. and now here i am.
great upload speed... anything over 3mbps for dl and i'll be happy.
Is there a more efficent program i can use to access my USB modem besides sprint smartview? |

It's been my experience that 4G is very finicky in placement of the modem. So, moving from the front to the back may have optimized the signal.
I've experimented with many different locations in my place until I can get the best signal and speed. Then, I try to use that same place everytime I need internet. |

I live in Atlanta, GA and have been having the exact same problem! My wireless broadband card has been in the same place, connected to the same computer, in the same exact location and has worked fine for the past 6 months, and as of about 3 days ago I get an indefinite "Obtaining IP Address" and NO CONNECTION to Sprint 4G... out of nowhere.
Sprint is completely indifferent and said they would open a "trouble ticket" and call me back in 36 to 72 hours. Suprise, true to form with Sprint's terrible customer service, they have not called me back. This is my main source of internet and I can't live on 3G. Something is up and the numerous agents at Sprint all seem extremely dodgey to me, and a bit suspicous.
For all those thinking about getting a Sprint 3G / 4G Broadband card... think twice. I'm probably going to have to pay the damn $200 early termination fee, and get back on trusty Comcast. |

| Um, as far as I can tell, your experience is NOT the same. As I understand it, there's this location where Mojo1 CAN connect, but then has no connectivity (can't load web pages, download email, and so on).
In your case, you cannot even connect.
For what it's worth, I had exactly your problem two weeks ago. I finally called Sprint, and they did a ##RPR#on my Smartview/modem and simultaneously did a suspend-and-reinstate on my account at their end, and that did the trick, after a computer reboot.
