*Sigh*....I'm getting bad responses in tracerts to www.dslreports.com...Numbers in the 300's!!! I have to keep reloading pages quite a few times before they load....I swear a 200/100k dsl connection would be faster....Too bad it's so damn expensive (and not in my area). Just hang in there with me, maybe if enough of us b*tch at them they will do something (although I doubt it).

I work too late now to catch the Cox Road Runner support people and I don't feel like talking to brainless level 1 support from God knows where, so I am stuck with 200+ pings to any gaming server. I might have to take off work in order to talk to one of these morons. Oh, call them from work you said?? I don't know if I can power-cycle my modem from work, LOL. What a joke. |

Don't even bother. I've probably called them around 40-50 times and they've never been any help at all. I suggest you get a temporary dialup account until cox finishes with this upgrade. Although they claim they'll be done with this by the end of february, from what I've heard from a lot of others it wont be done until may. |

| I wish I could get a normal 56k connection though.
My dial-up is maximum 33.6k and normally about 15 to 20k:it's like 33.6k or less. I don't know why. I'm 18,500 feet away from my CO and I think that's the reason I cannot get even a normal 56k connection.
I have 3 56k modems and I have tried all of them. The same shit connection. Sigh...BTW, I don't even understand why I should talk about my telephone internet connection here while I have a cable connection with much higher monthly fee. You damn ass whore COX, get out of my town! |

Maybe after they do "finish" this "digital revolution" that they are saying, it may get a little better. My developement is already wired, and has been for about a year to accept digital cable AND cable internet...but of course I can get niether because of COX's gay regulations. Why can't I get DSL, because of the fiber optic cables. I am only 5000ft from my CO, I would be much happier with copper cables than this damn fiber optic shit. |

Does anyone know when the digital upgrade in Burke will be completed? Or Have it ever started? They said it would be the end of February or March but I haven't seen any COX truck working on it in my area. |

Springfield, VA | Check Cox's site to see when you'll be upgraded. It looks like Burke will be the last area to be upgraded along with my area (Springfield). Who knows when exactly they'll upgrade a persons area. I've called twice and neither person would give me a straight answer.

Well, from thursday through saturday, I had almost flawless service. However, today, as you can see, my pings are nothing to brag about. What I don't understand is why there are these occasional speedups. One day I'll start pinging 30ms to game servers at 8:30 in the evening, and then in 2 days, it'll suddenly get worse than it was before the speed-up. Why can't they just provide decent service without completely screwing it over after only a few days? Is it really that difficult? As for me, I probably wont be seeing ANY decent service for a while. This would definately be a perfect time for DSL. |
