How do you copy/paste a screenshot from the modem signal page?

Re: How do you copy/paste a screenshot from the modem signal pag

How I did it (probably over-complicated!!):
On the screen, hit ALT-PrintScreen (saves just the active window to the clipboard instead of the whole screen)
Go to Paint (start/all programs/Accessories) and hit ALT-V (or Edit/Paste) to paste
Click the Select tool (upper-right of the tools box on the left), then box the upstream section.
Go to Edit/Copy To... and save the file somewhere.
Start your post and put in some text, click Preview/Attach. On the preview screen, select the Browse button and go to your file, then click upload.

I use a third party app called SnagIt. Windows 7 Professional, I notice, has a built in app called Snipping Tool which can work for this.

Huh... I remember that on Vista, but never knew what it was for! Learn something new every day....

Snipping Tool doesn't have the capabilities of SnagIt or some other apps, but it would easily do for the function in question here. It is easy to use, IMO.

Umm Yeah... I hate to tell you that you dont use alt at all!!!

First your hit the printscreen button on keyboard on the page you want to copy.

Second open paint and press cntrl v or hit the past button

Third crop it

Forth save it.

Thats it

As andyross See Profile noted:

The "Alt" function still has a purpose. If you press "PrintScr", you will take a snapshot of the entire screen. Now, lets say you have multiple windows up on your screen. If you press "Alt/PrintScr", you will only take a snapshot of the active window.
