1 edit | My Qwest DSL Migration from 7Mb/896Kb to 20Mb/5MbQwest recently rolled out VDSL to my area and I just thought I’d chime in to briefly let everyone know of my experience.
Simply, Qwest delivered the Actiontec Q1000 yesterday and moved my connection from ADSL to VDSL today. When I went to setup the modem, Qwest automatically redirects you to a friendly web page that walks you through the process. Near the end of the process, it failed and I was unable to complete the configuration automatically—so it offered manual configuration. The manual configuration process would normally be simple too, but the PPP username that was provided in the browser interface was obviously incorrect and no password was provided as well. So, I called Qwest and ~15 minutes later I had the correct PPP username and password—which was identical to the username and password I had with ADSL. Once I entered this into the modem, I was online.
Speed tests show I am getting 18.8Mb/4.6Mb and ping times have improved by 12ms due to my first hop being 20ms instead of the 32ms I was getting on ADSL. (Anyone know if I can get this first hope even lower?)
So far, I am pleased to see Qwest become more competitive with cable. For the geeks out here, some output from the telnet interface of the modem is below.

Glad to see it's working that well for you. I have the 40/5 plan and see about 37.5/4.7 with about 25ms. I'm lucky to get that, for Qwest/CenturyLink is the only game in town (well, in my complex anyway).
