Show All Approvals (Thumbs Up) in Posts

There have been a number of discussions regarding the change that limits the number of approvals (thumbs up) displayed in posts; the most recent here »Number of approvals displayed

Currently a maximum of 5 approvals are visible in a post and I'm proposing that if someone takes the time to approve a post that all the results should be displayed.

Thanks,
Kathy

There may be instances there is more then 5 approvals on a post. Even though simply 2 clicks, people make that effort to show someone they approve. It seems that this approval should be seen by the OP and not simply disappear.

I agree. They should all be displayed. I don't know if it's a glitch in the system or not.

If someone has the time maybe they can give a look. I'll ask.

I agree.
If a member has taken the time to give a thumbs up they should at least feel safe that the person they sent it to will see it.
Otherwise they are just wasting their time.

so..

Since when did approvals become displayed? They used not to be and I don't see any now. Thumbing up is a PRIVATE matter. If that is now displayed for everyone to see then I will no longer give any thumbs. I will simply send the person an IM with my PRIVATE thanks.

The approval is only displayed to the person receiving it, but now they only see 5 no matter how many they receive.

They are not publically displayed and I'm not suggesting that they should be. I'm referring to the fact that only 5 thumbs up or approvals show privately.

In other words, if 10 people approve of one of your posts, you will only know about 5 of them.

Hope this helps to clarify.

Thanks dandelion See Profile and KittyMom See Profile for clarifying that.

I didn't know that currently you can only see five thumbs maximum so if you were given more they are not displayed. There is not even any indication you got more and could click somewhere in order to see the ones over the 5 limit? If not, that makes no sense and I vote

to your request. And not to hijack your thread, but while Justin is fixing this could he PLEASE fix the problem with anon posters so that we can again give thumbs to them? I hate that I cannot give anon posters thumbs for almost TWO YEARS now (on a variety of browsers on XP Pro...don't know if the browser or the OS has anything to do with the problem which a lot of us here have). Unfortunately, the anons tend to have many of the best posts here (at least in the forums I frequent and I want to be able to let them know I appreciate their post...they might even decide to join then).
