so when he comes to install it he will have like a spare data jack so he can run the cable upstairs? Should I have the modem ready for him? Also some people are getting above advertised speeds... I thought they capped you. How does everybody like ATTBI so far? -- Popsicle!!!!!!!! |

| reply to LuckyBob Yes, he had all the equipment needed.
I had the modem hooked up and ready to go, all it needed was the Data cable.
I have NO clue how I am getting above the 1500/128. I am in an ex-media One area, but I was never a customer. Might be due to the GREAT signal quality.. =) |

| reply to LuckyBob Back to the topic somewhat I guess. I have been wondering if the Cisco UBR924/925 would work with AT&T's former Media One areas. I have not inquired about this with them. But I have noticed that no Cisco equipment shows up on their "approved modem" list. Is this more because Circuit City®, Best Buy® and CompUSA® do not carry Cisco or because it will not work? The modems on the list seem to all be available at the above listed stores.
When the service was launched in my area, the Cisco was the default modem used. Can any DOCSIS modem typically work on these systems? The model we had when the service was launched was rock solid and hardly ever gave any problems. Maybe twice in 8 months was it down or slow. Does anyone know? |
