Re: $34.95 magicJack PLUS to existing customers

Yeah, don't even get me started on their circular web pages that make absolutely no sense at all. And no matter what you click it is trying to get you to select something that is for their benefit (like auto renew) or to buy something that isn't really what you want. That, combined with their cartoonish home page and web site is quite unbelievable. It all seems so fly by night, like the place is run out of a basement of a payday loan shop or something. You know it's legit but every move feels like a scam. I am afraid if I click wrong I will accidentally buy a used car.

Just because it doesn't work for you or you hate MJ doesn't mean it's not great for someone else.Maybe it's a layer 8 problem? I've had a MJ for over 2 years as a backup phone and dedicated fax line (and phone calls too ) It's clear you hate MJ but from what I've read, your just jumping from one pan to the next. I read up on the NT duo 2 and I'm not impressed. Sounds like a knockoff of the MJ+. Regardless, I've already ordered my 2nd Mj and got the plus. Paid the 20 bucks to port my Comcrap phone over and will soon be enjoying having no phone bill for 12 months.

actually the MJ plus is a copy cat of the Nettalk DUO

exactly right about who the copycat is. And if someone reads about the NT2 and isn't impressed I don't see how they could possibly be impressed by mj+. They are essentially the exact same product with the primary difference being NT's superior customer service and absence of blatant slimy business practices. Google is our friend on this one.

I never said the technology doesn't or won't work. I love the technology, it's why i bought in 3 yrs ago. The concept is great but the company flat out sucks. You'll get your well deserved dose of layer 8 the first time you need tech support. Good luck I hope it works for you.

I love MJ too, but since my desktop crapped out, I haven't been using it. We all have cell phones in our family. But I miss having a house phone. I will probably buy the non-computer version.

I did want to comment about the company - they have every opportunity to improve the customer support and they choose not to. I've spent plenty of hours going through the 'script' with each layer of support and hated every minute of it.

You want to be a Fortune 500? Invest in a call center located here in the states. Load it with people who care and can speak the language. Maybe some intellegent teens or stay at home savy, out of work, work from home computer geeks.

I just wander what's the call quality between old MJ and MJ+. I did order the discounted MJ+, and have been using old MJ for year and half with no problems. There is a short delay when you talk, hopefully that is corrected in the new MJ+. I would appreciate if someone could compare these two units.
Thanks

I switched from the original to the Plus. My Dish network receivers are now able to connect fairly consistently.
