nook touch ade

Having problems getting my Adobe Digital Editions to recognize my Nook Touch. I've downloaded a book from the library but can't transfer it to my NT. Mac recognizes the NT but ADE does not. Do I have to install ADE on NT?

Update: apparently you have to connect the NT to the computer before you open ADE. ADE recognized the Nook immediately.
