1 edit | Parking Ticket FIGHT: Will I win? Pics Tree branch obstructing no parking sign | Close up on the pole that should have a parking sign | Pole on the other block. This is the signs that are supposed to be on the pole, like in the 2nd picture |
Got a parking ticket today, for apparently parking in a no parking zone from 10am-2pm. First, the sign closest too me was 100-125 ft away, obstructed by a tree branch and the sign underneath that obstructed by the ski rack on an suv. Second, the poll nearest my car which should have had a parking sign, had no sign. The reason I know it should have a parking sign, is because all the other blocks have light polls exactly like this with no parking signs on it. Do you think I will win contesting the ticket? Pics included. -- No Victim=No Crime |

| reply to billydunwood The questions are: 1) Have you ever parked there before? 2) Did you actually know you weren't supposed to park there at that time, but are using the situation of tree branch, SUV, etc. to beat the ticket?
These amongst other questions will be thrown at you. -- In God we trust; all others bring data!

These amongst other questions will be thrown at you. Never parked there in my life. 2) I did not know I wasn't supposed to park there. I saw 6 other cars within 200 feet of my car on the same block. I never saw the signs, but after I saw the ticket, when I looked for the sign, I saw a red sign 100-150 ft away with a branch in front of it. And it's a review online, not in court. I upload 3 pictures max and my statement, and some kangaroo court person tells me the verdict. Keep in mind, these pics are zoomed in on a dslr camera, so its actually looks closer and easier to read than it is. But they cant expect people to walk 100ft every time they park a car to read signs. The other blocks I went down, have no parking signs on every light pole about 25 feet from each other. This pole was exactly like all the other poles, just missing the no parking sign -- No Victim=No Crime |

| reply to billydunwood Today is Thursday. It says "Wednesday street cleaning". Is it only to have the street clear on Wednesdays for cleaning 10-2 or every day? Who knows.. it's one sign and not separate signs, why would they write that specific day. -- Moe, I need your advice

That picture is to show the same pole in pic 2 that DOESNT have a parking sign, actually SHOULD have a parking sign. Every other pole has one, except the one near where I parked. The picture of NO Parking Wednesday is from 1 block over. -- No Victim=No Crime |

Your feelings of which poles should have signs mean little in a dispute. |

Yea, I could only see the sign after I walked up pretty close to it, enough to get the branch out of the sign's way. What's funny is that the parking enforcement officer, when talking to him, didn't emphasize the signs posted. He emphasized on the fact that a majority of the cars were parked on the other side of the street, which were legally parked. So if I listen to his advice, I should look and park where a majority of the cars are parked. -- No Victim=No Crime |

You as the driver have to know what all signs say! I say you will lose! |

 | reply to vaxvms Ignorance of the law is no excuse? It sort of is, especially when there are well over 40,000 laws in the US and more are passed every year. You can't expect a person to know every law. »www.copblock.org/12341/actually-···-excuse/ -- No Victim=No Crime |
