Microsoft still provides security patches through Windows Update even after the OS is no longer supported. No longer supported just means no more new patches. |

 | the best part of XP is it allows running custom kernel-mode drivers without M$soft certification...
running self-custom-built FULL DISK ENCRYPTION driver (with true unmodified random number generator and genuine AES256 xts mode, sha512 bit hash) is much easier AND safier than Vista/7  |
