...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHERN COOK AND NORTHEASTERN DUPAGE COUNTIES UNTIL 1100 PM CDT...
AT 812 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL CONTINUING ACROSS NORTHERN DUPAGE AND NORTHERN COOK COUNTIES. DOPPLER RADAR HAS ESTIMATED ONE AND A HALF TO OVER TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS A GOOD PORTION OF THE WARNED AREA SINCE 600 PM. LAW ENFORCEMENT HAS REPORTED NATCHEZ ROAD IN THE NORRIDGE AREA CLOSED DUE TO BEING COVERED WITH WATER. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH 11 PM IF STORMS CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP OVER THIS AREA. EVEN MORE RAINFALL MAY OCCUR INTO OVERNIGHT DEPENDING ON HOW STORMS EVOLVE.
RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE... THE NORTH SIDE OF CHICAGO...DES PLAINES...EVANSTON...HANOVER PARK...INTERSTATE 90...LINCOLNWOOD...OHARE AIRPORT AREA...AND PARK RIDGE. |

All night I watched these storms pop up just south of me and to the east around O'Hare but it wasn't until after midnight that we got any rain where I live. I could even see it was raining hard less than a mile from me between Bode and Schaumburg Rd.

We had a good lightning show out in Naperville from about 11PM till about 2AM. Good amount of rain - no a flash flood or downpour by any means but a few hours of some good constant rain.

Anyways, has anyone seen the beta of the new weather service forecast pages? The old ones have a link where you can preview the new format, which also has a link where you can give comments.

There is no notice about DSLR still being in limited mode, but I am pretty sure that some things were permanently lost in the whole "reclamation" period.

(I have seen some clear TOS-breakers get moved in there, too, like racist stuff and active discussion of piracy, so it's not just for spam.)
