Re: Qwest CenturyLink YouTube Service failure under deliver said by ArizonaSteve:There's no bandwidth limiter on the youtube website, why would there be, that's just silly. I can play videos in HD with no problems. You guys are just being paranoid. No, I'm not being paranoid.
All I am saying is that this issue isn't on the ISP end, it's more so on YouTube's end. When you load a video of any quality, it will always download it in bursts. Well, that's how it has always been for me via WiMax @ Sprint, CenturyLink, Comcast, and SuddenLink. ) -- --bc |

Only with Centurylink does streaming choke on the laptop, how is that you can say it's not related to Centurylink? -- ex-Hughesnet customer. Now I have Centurylink who's inconsistent service is just as frustrating. |

They need to ask Google to send them more.
You can try changing your DNS server to hopefully avoid CL's youtube cache servers. |

| reply to bctrainers It does download in bursts but that seems to be related more to the Flash player than anything else. The player determines how much data is downloaded and kept in a small buffer so it can keep ahead of the video that's playing so it won't run out of data and stop to buffer. That's quite a different process that just downloading the file to play it off line. |
