I think the Cisco/SA boxes are junk anyways. Another cable provider (Time Warner) stopped buying the Cisco hardware and now buys Samsung set-tops and Ubee Modems.

Where did you get that very incorrect information from?

Time Warner (and Brighthouse) are both handing out the newly released Cisco 8742HDC HD DVRs and 4742HDC HD set top terminals in quite a few areas. The Samsungs have taken a backseat. To my knowledge, TW never handed out real Cisco modems. All of the modems they handed out where Scientific Atlantic models from before Cisco bought them. For modems, TW hands out both UBee and Motorola D3 modems and possibly Arris. Last week when I was at Time Warner’s main headend in Rochester a fresh shipment of some type of hardware from Arris came in but I couldn’t tell what it was.

Here in North Texas TWC issues Motorola, Samsung, and Cisco boxes with ODN now using ADSG and motorola cable cards.

What kind of tuning adapters do they use? Cisco? Did they out the updated firmware on it to handle more than 2 streams?
