Im on Kitchener POI and I get 4x2
Just did a modem reboot a few mins ago but did not get 8x2 bonding. I take it that the POI does not give 8x2 for every person connected to it? How does it determine the number of bonded channels to give out to each peer?

There's two issues here:

1) Which modem do you have? The Motorolas only support 4 downstream channels.

2) It's based on node not POI. There's several hundred nodes on the Kitchener POI. Some are 8x2, some like mine are 4x1, some are 4x2. Until Rogers offers higher speeds the 8 downstream channels aren't really required anyways, you shouldn't be experiencing slowdowns with 4.

I've got the SB6120. I did not realize before that it only supports 4 bonded channels up and down. That would explain it.
