Remote access blocked.

I need to get into LogMein Rescue program in order to work for a company that does medical transcribing. This is how they install their software as they gain access to your computer in this way. I would like to know what my computer is doing to block this. I have disabled my Norton Security already and have disabled other firewalls on computer. Please help.

I'm moving this to the Security forum. Although the folks there are generally involved in helping to improve security rather than disabling it, they might be able to help with your request, or offer some sage advice about it.

What message, error or otherwise, are you getting? Can't you install the software yourself from the link they provide?

I am not really getting any kind of error message. It just says failed connection right on LogMeIn site. Where I went and found the error message was on Administrative Tools in the events place. There was a message saying that there was faulty registry of this site.

Oh one more thing, this is really strange. I put the http address of the link and it came up with no problem. No failed connection at all. Now why would that happen? I am wondering if there is something wrong on their web site that is blocking me from entering it????

You know back in the old days, these companies would let you install their software just by sending it in email. Much easier. No they will not do that anymore. They want to get their noses (would love to use another word -- A**) up your computer and see what you have.
