I have both

I bought my Xbox and just received my PS2 has a gift. Xbox rocks. Yes, PS2 has alot of games as i would expect a console that has been on the market for over a year now. Everything about the Xbox was easier to me and these are my first consoles. With the Xbox i could just play the game right out of the box and save my setting. I had to look for over a week to find a 8meg memory card that cost me 40 bucks at Walmart and was the lastone the had. Since then i have yet to find another one. The Xbox is really cheap in the long run with all these adapters to buy (other than DVD and if you dont have one of those aready your lagging behind). I love Red Faction on PS2 but if PS2 was waiting for me to purchase it over a Xbox that would never of happen. And yea I hate Windows too. :P

check this out its for my report on the history oif gaming

Which is a better system, Playstation 2, or Gamecube?

The PS2, and Gamecube, weren’t the first gaming systems. Gaming at home took a long time to develop, from the arcades. In 1972, a game by the name of Pong was released in arcades. Pong really jumpstarted video games. With the year 1976, came the creation of Cartridges, somewhat like the 8-Track audiocassettes. In 1977, the first Home system was introduced, and with a price tag of $249, Atari hit the stores. Atari became an instant success, people wanted to play their arcades at home.

Our friends at Nintendo come to introduce themselves in 1978, creating a game for the Atari system. The game was based on an old board game called Othello. In 1980, the most popular game of all time, Pacman went to the arcades. Pacman was and still is the most played game of all time. 1980 was a big and very important year for Nintendo. *“Minoru Arakawa, son-in-law of Nintendo Japanese’s Chief Hiroshi Yamauch opens Nintendo of America in New York City, then moves the company to Seattle, Washington. Unsuccessful at selling a number of mediocre electronic video games following computer Othello, the small American subsidiary has a decidedly uncertain future.”

Nintendo creates its first very successful game, “Donkey Kong” in 1981. Then in 1986, Nintendo is successful with their first system, The NES. At first they tested it in New York City, after being a huge hit there, they released it to the nation. The NES was very successful claiming the spot as the best gaming system in the US. Nintendo starts to monopolize the market with games such as Zelda, and Metroid. A new Zelda and Metroid are scheduled for Gamecube.
