3com shark fins cost about $175 to $200.. (I'm not sure exactly)... but as far as it being "AT&T's responsibility to pick up the equipment".... the company I work for (Time Warner Cable) will pick up the equipment for free IF YOU SET UP AN APPOINTMENT... of course they charged him for the modem, since he was renting it! If this guy had made sure the cable company got the modem back in the first place then he wouldn't have had anything to worry about! I highly doubt AT&T made this modem... the only shark-fins I know about are/were made by 3com.
