Re: [Modem] ModemMy speed has dropped dramatically the past few days, I'm on the 6mps plan but only getting anywhere from .80 to 1.97. Can't even stream a movie. I'll have to get line stats when i get home. att wants me to do all kinds of unplugging things to test but nothing has changed on my network. |

SN Margin needs to be 9.0 dB, or higher, for reliable service. Under 6.0 and things will fall apart real fast. If this became manifest within the last couple of days, then something has changed. Could be a dying modem, but I'd go for the simple stuff first. If your DSL is shared with dial tone, is there any noise (crosstalk or static) on the line. Also check filters, and that any screw terminals are tight. |

But he looks like he is on fast path.... Tier two tech support should be able to put him on a noise profile and that may be able to fix the SN Noise margins and make his connection stable. |

He should have been flipped to interleaved automatically for that margin. |

I had to ask to a different noise profile before with tech support which the OP might need to do.
From my experience, not unless you ask or complain, they won't move it. |
