DNS server fails to respond on old modem

After the update last week my Cisco modem dpc3825 fails.
Everything seems to be fine and SL can see it just fine. 4 DL channels 1 up. I have a IP address and DNS servers listed but no connection. (on 3 computers)
Running windows troubleshooting says the DNS servers fails to respond. Pinging it gives me a time out.
I think its something on SL end. everything works fine in arris modem.

Ideas?

Running on the arris phone modem until they can resolve this issue.....if they will.

Hmmm. We recently moved our offices and had something similar happen. The installing tech left before all the equipment was in place but said everything looked good. Later that afternoon the equipment was installed and everything look good, just as you describe, but no connections were getting out. Level 1 support did what little they could and said they could see everything and it looked fine so they rolled a truck. Being a business account, someone showed up within a couple hours. He confirmed the symptoms and was stuck for why, so he called in and forced a re-provision. Everything came back up immediately. The original level 1 support person called about an hour later to follow up and swore they had done that multiple times. Everything has been rock solid since.

Wait, so you have a Cisco modem, or an Arris modem?

You can't just switch them in and out and have them both work on the same account. The isp is "looking" for only one of those modems. To switch them you'd need to call in and let them know you got a different modem and give them the mac.

right, I have to call in and have service switched back and forth between the arris and cisco modems. Its a pain in the azz and it would be nice if the could provision 2 modems at once with one set to expire in 48 hrs for testing and trouble shooting.

I am waiting for a call from some group higher up to help me with the issue. I am not holding my breath anyone will ever call.

when I had issues a few years ago, higher ups (local net-ops managers) called me until it was all worked out.

I don't see them actually provisioning 2 modems concurrently. That would be practically giving you a second account for free. Only allowing one from your line is the basic setup of their security.
