[CATV] NFL Network Gone on July 31

It looks like the NFL Network is going to be taken off the Insight Cable lineup. I figured this would happen once the contract ran out. Time Warner does not have a contract with The NFL Network in any of their other areas.

I can't say I have watched them much. I know they are increasing their number of games this season. I wonder How many Insight customers will switch to Direct TV since we have had access to this channel for 7 years.

If they add MLB Network in HD and NHL Network HD in place of it, I can live with that. If they drop these channels and put nothing in their place, obviously I'll be upset about it.

At least in my area, TWC already added MLB Network SD and HD. No NHL or NBA though. I'm rather disgusted with losing NFL Network as well as having to deal with copy protection for the first time. Oh yeah, and the rate increase notice that I just got hasn't helped either.

I've definitely been looking strongly at DirecTV.

just the first wave. There are some or all of the HD pack channels not on TWC too.

Yeah, well, I wouldn't miss those, don't subscribe to the HD Pack. I always saw it as *highly* over priced.

Too bad that our monthly bill won't decrease as Time Warner drops channels. Here is their official response. The Customer be Damned.

If their taking NFLHD off of channel 926, they should take MLBHD on 537 and move it to 926 to fill that spot.

Did they raise your bill when you got the MLB network added?

I have had insight for 2 years and my bill has gone up 3 times. So I'd say yes.

While I don't have Insight (former customer).... put me in the "don't give a crap" column. If I ever return to Insight (soon to be TWC), I won't miss the NFL network as I could give two sh*ts about any sport. I say move ALLLLLLLLLLL sports to their own tier and charge you sports watching people $50 extra to watch that garbage.

It's one thing if Time Warner was about to implement their entire lineup for us because, as a whole, I prefer TW's entire lineup here in Columbus over Insight's. However, if they are simply planning on just dropping channels that they don't have as part of their lineup without implementing their lineup, I'd be very upset about it.

Does anyone know when TW plans to finally implement their entire lineup for former Insight customers? It's getting a little ridiculous at this point.

I don't have any info as to when they will implement their channel lineup. I hope its sooner rather than later though. I agree, the lack of communication that Time Warner has with its customers about channel changes is frustrating especially when they are dropping channels in the HD Pack that we pay more for.

One interesting thing is that if you go to »www.timewarnercable.com/midwest-···linkid=0 it shows the channel line up for Time Warner's central KY region under a zip code in Northern KY 41042.

I'll be switching back to Dish as soon as I can get new customer pricing (late August). We watch NFL network quite a bit during football season plus the fact that insights DVR is terrible.. Buh-bye TWC/Insight.

Might want to wait little while if you watch any of the AMC channels. Think they are off their system now because of fee dispute.

On July 13th the courier-journal paper had other channels that could be taken off. Food Network, Fox News, YouToo TV, BBC America, Cooking Channel, DIY, all Starz/Encore channels, GAC, HRTV, Sprout, TruTV. Do these expire Wednesday too?

Here's The latest regarding The NFL Network and Time Warner/Insight.

»Time Warner NFL Network Update

"I dont want to raise anyone hopes, but this just in from Time Warner in the hardball negotiations over a football network:"

We asked for a short extension so we could try to finalize an agreement, but they refused. Conversations are ongoing and we remain hopeful that we can reach a resolution. But we have been close before only to have it fall apart so we need to be cautious about predicting success. –Mike Hogan, Time Warner Media Relations Specialist

And guess what the Broncos / Bears game was on NFL Network last night... End of the month TW / Insight loses my TV sub.

First of many I'm afraid if the history of TWC and NFL talks are an example. Very sad what greed does to people and companies.

I miss the NFL network. TWC should have let Insight customers keep the channel.

From what I've read Insight customers could have continued to have it for same cost NFL paid Insight but TWC declined and shut it off.

So since TWC has taken over my area has already seen three disputes, NFL,FOX,and CBS. What's next I wonder?

TWC coul of kept it on at the same price Insight was agreed to with the NFL. Who knows how much that was beut clearly its more then whatever TWC has been wanting with their own dispute.

However I dont like the spin the NFL has been using saying 0% increase with x% more games ect...

That makes two of us. Great game tonight but can't watch it at home. TWC should get the NFL network back on for the Insight customers.

TWC is the only provider that doesn't have NFL Network. I guess they don't mind that fact.

Well for some TWC is the ONLY cable option, so they dont care because of that.

Most areas in the country only have one cable provider. I know Columbus Ohio is not one of those areas.

Not 100% There are pockets were only one of the 3 (soon 2) are available. While WOW is generaly the overbuilder here because of their Americast by Ameritech/SBC days. There are some places on the outskirts of the metro area that only have TWC, maybe AT&T U-verse. Parts of Upper Arlington only have TWC.
