Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 | Instant Messages how to keep a bunch all at once? I read the FAQ on Instant Messages but I don't see how to put all IMs to/from a certain member in the Kept folder all at once. I don't want to have to keep them one at a time...it will take too long and when I keep one I get automatically sent back to the first page of IM history instead of back to the grouping I have of all IMs to/from this particular member. So, I have to group them again and then can only save one again? There must be a way to save all of them at once. How?
Also, FAQ says there is no "unkeep" button but there is. So, what is the difference between the "unkeep" button and the "delete" button on a message that has been placed in the Kept folder? -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. I've got all my PMs since 2004 (the year of the great PM purge) and I've never explicitly kept any of them. The only thing I notice is that system messages disappear automatically so I make sure to keep those when I want to save them. I guess its just a way of bookmarking them? -- »[Info] The DSLR Orangeface extension 2.0! |

Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 | reply to Weirdal I usually don't put them in the Kept folder either but, yes, this was to bookmark them because the member hasn't been at the site in over a week and I thought the member might not come back. (Only has a few posts here). I had almost forgotten the member's name (getting older is so much fun) and the messages were from over two months ago so they didn't show on IM history tab. I just thought it would be a good idea to put them in the Kept folder.
I guess I can just put one in the Kept folder since I don't know how (or if it is even possible) to put all in the kept folder at one time. Seeing just one there would enable me to find the others. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson |

Thanks! I bet "unkeep" means they almost never disappear ...they go back to being like all the others and would disappear only if Justin decided to purge IMs like he did one time years ago (and gave very little notice for us to have time to save the ones we wanted to keep). So, if you really want it gone the "delete" button would be the one to use. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. change the # to their member number that will take you to the housekeeping tab with that person, scroll to the bottom click check all, click keep all, done. |

I was wondering what those blank check boxes were for when I was in Housekeeping that I hardly ever look at. I didn't scroll to the bottom of the page where I would have seen the buttons that explain it. There was a FAQ that explained how to get to all the IMs to/from a certain member (like what you showed to put in the address bar) but my mistake was that I didn't scroll all the way to the bottom and so missed seeing a way to save all on that page at the same time. I suppose that is not in the FAQ because no one is expected to be so dumb as to not scroll down to the bottom of the page!
