Re: New laptop battery not charging? You might want to install this free utility that will tell you more information about the battery, and give you a more accurate indication about actual charging status. Perhaps it just isn't taking a charge?

It is actually very useful. It can even give you an indication of how much useful life the battery has left, and a lot of information about manufacturing specs, actual voltage capabilities, and lots more. The CPU and HDD temp readings are useful, as well, but may or may not work on some BIOSes, and under Vista/7 you may have to run a registry util in the program's folder to allow the program to bypass UAC to access BIOS level functions. |
