I used tcpview to see what it was connecting to. I found it seems to connect to an Amazon cloud server on port 7000, which is indeed occasionally used by ircds.
However, when I tried to connect to it with a normal irc client, it returned an Operation Not Permitted message and refused to connect. So it seems traditional clients will not work. -- Think Outside the Fox.
Not trolling. What advantage does restricting access to the web client provide? Is there a security concern or an unfair advantage provided by mIRC? -- "I'm just a human being trying to make it in a world that is very rapidly losing its understanding of being human." - John Trudell
