| 1080p, Backlit Keyboard, and i7 for under 1000 Can I have some advice for a laptop with those specs? As far as Graphics Integrated HD 4000 is fine but if you can find a dedicated chip all the better, At Dell.com All they have is 720p with NO back lit option. I did find this »www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+17.3%2···=5608347 But I wanted some other choices.
I've been looking at Dell, HP and Toshiba. How are MSI etc the ones that aren't common name brands? |

Dell seems much less flexible than they used to be, when you go to 'customize' one of those builds the only options are software and support. Shame because if you could configure it with just what you need (take out the nvidia graphics and SSD) it might fit your budget. |

?
I dont think you can touch a ~17 with those specs for less then ~$1500. |

| reply to pnjunction If you haven't already bought one, consider checking out the Dell Outlet store.
A couple weeks ago, the company I work for bought two Dell Inspiron 17R Special Edition laptops from the Dell Outlet store, each with the 1080p 17.3" display, 3rd Gen Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 2GB discrete NVIDIA graphics, backlit keyboard, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit...
Each was listed at $809, but we had a 20% off coupon code which brought them down to about $650, not including tax. The ones we got were refurbished, but while checking the inventory at the time, there were some Refurbished, some Scratch & Dent, and one or two New available. At the time there were a variety of configurations (we chose a couple of the cheap ones with the 1080p display). They have the full warranty as a new unit.
