Re: [iO] New Jersey All Digital A few weeks ago I noticed when doing my weekly Analog/Clear QAM scans that Cablevision removed The Weather Channel and EWTN on 68 on the Morris County system that I'm on.
Technically the system you're in is labeled Matamoras as shown in the TV lineups but listed under New Jersey:
Matamoras (NY & PA areas) Branchville, Layton, Milford, Mill Rift, Montague |

|
 | Someone else would have to chime in who has a Tuning Adapter who's system has gone all digital to confirm which channels if any still need them. You can also try removing the adapter and see if you still need it as well. |

RemyM join:2005-02-14 Stamford, CT | Historically it has taken about 3 months after the switch to digital for your system to stop using SDV for:
NHL Network HD (channel 791). Big Ten Network & Big Ten Network HD (channels 413/720). Smithsonian Channel & Smithsonian Channel HD (channels 163/780). Limited premium HD movie channels.
They normally provide messages on the lower guide channel and bills when channels will no longer need a tuning adapter.
After that you will only need a tuning adapter for:
Subscription international programming packages, including iO en español, iO Russian, iO Korean, etc. Subscription sports packages, including MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass, NHL Center Ice, etc. 3D on iO TV
Unless you're on one of the following systems that don't use SDV for anything: Bronx, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Hudson, Newark, and Paterson. |
|
 | Makes little sense to me why it takes months to complete the switch! It should be thirty days after date they start with messages. We are missing several HD channels and still suffering with the sdv, channel not available messages. Please explain why it takes sooooo long. |

That said, will there be any notification that SDV is done? I assume CV will want these F!@#$%ng Tuning Adapters back. |

RemyM join:2005-02-14 Stamford, CT | QAM frequencies are allocated to on demand just as they are to linear and SDV channels. If there was an over request for on demand you could have problems as was the case when they offered a free on demand movie during the ABC dispute. |

 | reply to kickass69 Got "the letter" today in Matamoras, PA. . . "all televisions will require digital equipment by October 16, 2012". |
|
 | Ahh, a month later than here in the Morris County system, I guess PA is truly last in everything CV. |
|
 | Receiver the letter today. Oct. 16 is the day for the digital cutover in Denville NJ. |
|
 | Well then I guess that's for the Morris County system in general not just Denville. Though it would seem strange that different towns within a system get different dates. |

|
 | I honestly don't know. Never needed to ask either on the phone or when a tech has been here in the past. |

|
 | reply to HoundNJ According to my link above Randolph goes all digital on the 27th while Parsippany on the 20th. But your letter states a month later so we'll see ultimately. |

rtbond join:2007-11-28 Hopatcong, NJ | reply to kickass69 I believe the Mine Hill Hub Office serves the greater Lake Hopatcong area. So I think the digital conversion dates vary according to the Hub Office (i.e., the place where the QAM modulators are located and the HFC (Access) network begins). I do not believe the Hub Office conversion dates are published, just the rather wide windows for the conversion of the entire system (Morris/Randolph in this case) |
